Registration and classification of vessel types include oil tankers, chemical tankers, bulk carriers, general cargo, and container ships, mobile offshore drilling units, tugs, supply, barges, fishing, yachts and non-convention vessels.

6. Permanent Registration

Application forms shall be submitted to the Administration Office (Government Representative) who shall submit the application to the Head Office for the review and issuance of the Permanent Registration. The Certificate of Registry shall be valid for the period of Five (5) years from the date of issue. The Radio Ship Station License and Minimum Safe Manning Certificate shall be subject for renewal upon receipt of payment for the annual fees.

  • Certified true copy of a Bill of Sale, Judicial Sale Instrument, or Builder Certificate.
  • Original Deletion Certificate from the previous registry.
  • Original Power of Attorney appointing a shipping agent (Philtex Corporation)
  • Copies of all valid certificates issued by the RO on behalf of the Government of TZIRS (where applicable)
  • International Tonnage Certificate issued by the RO on behalf of the Government of TZIRS (where applicable)

All documents submitted must be in the English language, if they are in a foreign language, they must be accompanied by an official translation.

Government Representative are authorized by the Tanzania Zanzibar Government to perform such duties in certifying officials for that purposes.
